Almeria area

There is a thriving fishing industry, as well as growing agricultural production, with the ubiquitous greenhouses.  This means the area has its own economic force. It is not just northern Europeans who have invested here, many Spaniards from the inland cities and towns have second, or retirement homes, here too. 

The area is less than a two-hour drive to the Sierrra Nevada which means skiing in the morning and an afternoon swim with sunbathing on the beach are real opportunities.  In addition, there are several established golf courses.  It hosts Europe’s only true desert golf course – Desert Springs.  The interior topography is dramatic and there are several areas previously used in the spaghetti western movies, now turned into theme park tourist attractions.

The region of Almeria can boast some of the best and driest weather in Europe. With the new airport in Murcia and the new AVE fast train soon to connect Almeria and Vera with the European rail network and theme parks in the area, Vera offers a lot to property buyers and holiday home owners.

Alta Velocidad Española (AVE) is a service of high-speed trains operating at speeds of up to 300 km/h (186 mph) on dedicated track in Spain, which will bring provincial capitals to within 4 hours travel from Madrid. This part of the network will be finished in 2012 / 2013 and will have connections to Murcia airport, Almeria airport as well as to Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona. This means you will be able to travel to Murcia airport in 15 to 20 minutes and all the way to Madrid in about 2 hours. It will also be a 25 minute drive to the new Murcia Paramount Theme Park.                                           

The train station will be less than a 5 minute drive from this Spanish property development, where the prices seemed to have reached their bottom. The latest news already seems to be having an effect on property prices.

Almeria City sits in a sheltered bay overlooked by the Alcazaba – a magnificent Arab fortress built in the 10th   century. Now Almeria has become cosmopolitan with old and new merging to provide a bustling thriving city – there is an active port area, a growing commercial sector, but also beaches and water sports to provide leisure activity.

There is also nearby Mojacar which offers some 17km of beaches edged with crystal clear waters.  This is very much a holiday area and is supported by bars, restaurants, water sports, horse riding and vast promenades.  This area is a popular year round holiday destination.

Development location

The development complex is nestled in grounds of over 16,000 sqm and enjoys extensive, tropical gardens of 8,000sqm, accommodating communal areas designed for all the family (pools, sports areas…) Salinas Village offers an attractive lifestyle, within an incomparable environment and with all services close at hand.

Set in communal gardens with various plants and trees: Mediterranean and tropical species, palm, olive and orange trees. The garden in turn has water courses, paths, swimming pools, shaded rest areas, sunny recreational areas. 2 outdoor pools are already operational, there is a tennis court, 2 paddle courts (smaller court than for tennis), a bicycle track for the more energetic families and a gym.

Once 50% of Phase II has been sold, this will be relinquished and the Clubhouse will serve as it was designed to do, be a communal facility for the complex, with a President and be part of the expense within the community fee. Currently the clubhouse has a mini-market for shopping during the Summer months and a restaurant, with bar, is open most of the year, called Pepperina. When it is transferred across it will also have an indoor and an additional pool, as well as housing the gym.
